At just $ 179.99, you can’t go wrong with these stylish, high-quality units. If you are a dedicated Xbox 360 user, these are a pair of headsets that will be the perfect use for you. You can know where sounds are coming from on a map to give you the upper hand in a shooter or scare yourself even more in a survival horror game. Whether you want to watch HD movies with our alarm clocks around you or play your favorite game hearing someone sneak up behind you, these Tritton units are a hell of a godsend for what you get with. The Tritton Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Gears of War headphones are by far the highest quality wired headphones I’ve used. Like I said before, you don’t have to be a Gears of War fan to appreciate the art of helmets and their mechanics.ĭo your helmets emit crimson skulls in the dark? However, only the entire unit with the theme of black and red makes it look particularly stylish. On either side of the helmet, there are Crimson Omen Skulls that gradually light up and flash red, indicating that your helmets are on which after seeing them are good… frankly bad ass! It is written Gears of War 3 on the top of the top rail as well as on the control box. The Gears of War licensed art on the helmet only adds to their freshness. This is a big deal with helmets and I am happy to say that they are comfortable and perfectly fitting helmets, even with a head pad. Moving the headphones couldn’t be more comfortable as I had worn them for hours without them starting to hurt or annoy me. It’s that simple, and the control box can lay flat or you can use the included accessory to make it stand up straight, depending on where or how your installation area is.
The other button is used to toggle between the different modes, either stereo sound / Dolby Digital Surround, movie mode or music mode. There are literally only two buttons on the control box and one of them is the power button with the main volume control as the perimeter. There is also an easily accessible mute switch on the inline audio controller. need to shout into mic if your playing volume is loud. You can also hear your own voice just enough through the headsets, so you don’t have to feel the noise. Of course, with the in-line audio controller with selectable voice control, you can easily hear your teammates no matter how loud the game is. Setting up and controlling the entire unit couldn’t be easier and is a different look from other models. All other wires are conveniently connected to the back of the control box, including the USB power supply and the optical cable both connecting to the back of the Xbox 360. In addition, you can also adjust the overall volume on the digital audio control box. From here you can adjust the game volume and separately control the mic volume. In the only yarn, which I have to add is braided, which makes it last longer, gives it more durability and makes tangling more difficult, is the in-line volume control. People can hear you clearly with the mic remotely, but the flexibility of the mic seemed a bit awkward compared to other headsets, but that’s definitely nothing stopping me from buying this device. The same goes for the detachable mic which is super sensitive, so you don’t need to have it near your mouth. This is apart from the little wire that needs to be connected to your Xbox 360 controller to chat online, which can obviously be unplugged if you don’t plan on chatting online. I mentioned that the wired setup is the most convenient that I’ve seen so far and that’s because you’re basically only dealing with a single wire which is nice and long with a 13ft reach, which is great if you are playing away from a real big TV. Now that we’ve got that sorted out, let’s move on to some of the awesome features of these bad boys. That’s basically a plus, however you look at it in this regard, especially since they’re only priced at $ 179.99, which is an incredible deal. So basically you will hear any games that don’t support it in 5.1 surround sound, but after using them the sound is still better than 5.1 headphones. Headsets are therefore definitely ahead of their time as more and more games will start to support 7.1 surround sound. This doesn’t mean that the Xbox 360 doesn’t support Dolby 7.1 surround sound, it just means that not all games support 7.1 surround sound. If you notice about your Xbox 360 audio setting, there is no actual setting for 7.1. To clarify something here, before we dive into the headset details, this is Dolby 7.1 Surround sound for the Xbox 360.
